My first experience with creating fashion began at the age of 12. I remember watching my Grandmother use her sewing machine to make my Grandfather’s shirts. She began teaching me the basic techniques of sewing. From sewing on a button, to threading a hole in a shirt, to hemming a pair of pants; I knew that I wanted to do more with this, not just make garments, but create real works of art.
By the age of 18, I had a great appreciation for such designing artists as Oscar De La Renta, CoCo Chanel, Christian Dior, Karl Lagerfeld, Yves St. Laurent and many more. I loved to watch their creations come down the runway and envisioned that one day I would create my own art.

After having my daughter, Ella, and being a stay at home Mom for a while, I decided it was time to make my dreams of designing a reality. Thus, Ella Couture was formed and I started designing outfits for children. I consider the fabrics my paintbrush and the designs my canvas, the combination creates a one of a kind masterpiece for your infant, child or young lady to wear and enjoy for many years to come.
To achieve this goal, I not only gain inspiration from current trends, but also consider the timeless, classic styles. I incorporate traditional dressmaking and couture construction techniques into each and every piece. This day and age, most of our fashions come from factories overseas and couture methods aren’t widely used. These time-honored techniques are a satisfying skill of hand and eye, which result in a piece to be truly admired from the inside and out.
